Danté Exum
Danté Exum was born on July 13, 1995, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, to American parents. He grew up in the suburb of East Melbourne. During his junior years, he played basketball for the Keilor Thunder and also participated in Australian rules football at school. He attended Thomas Carr College in Melbourne and Lake Ginninderra in Canberra, ACT, for high school. His father is Cecil Exum.
Exum opted not to play college basketball and declared for the NBA draft straight out of high school. In October 2013, after graduating from high school, he had the option to enroll in college but decided not to. On January 28, 2014, it was announced that he signed with Landmark Sports agents and would enter the 2014 NBA draft. He was eventually selected by the Utah Jazz as the 5th overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft.
His professional career began in 2014 with the Utah Jazz. He also played for FC Barcelona (2021–2022), Partizan (2022–2023), and the Dallas Mavericks (2023–present). Exum’s career highlights include winning the ABA League championship (2023), being named to the ABA League Team (2023), winning the Spanish Cup (2022), and receiving the EuroLeague Magic Moment award (2023). He also set a personal record with seven three-pointers against the Los Angeles Lakers in December 2023.
As of October 20, 2025, Exum (knee) has not practiced and has been out for two weeks due to a knee issue. He has no timetable for return and is unlikely to play in the upcoming regular season opener against San Antonio. The Dallas Mavericks re-signed Exum on September 2, 2025, after waiving forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper. He is 1.96 m tall and weighs 97 kg, and plays as a point guard/shooting guard.
