Daniil Medvedev vs. Brandon Nakashima Head-to-Head Record, Preview and Prediction for ATP Madrid Open 2025 Round of 16

The Playoffs News Team

Medvedev Favored Over Nakashima in Upcoming Match

Daniil Medvedev will face Brandon Nakashima at the ATP Madrid Open’s round of 16 in Caja Magica, Madrid, Spain. The Russian advanced to the third round without striking a ball, since he received a first-round bye, and his second-round opponent, Laslo Djere, withdrew due to a shoulder injury.

In Medvedev’s opening match of the tournament, he registered a commanding 6-2, 6-2 win over Juan Manuel Cerundolo. Meanwhile, Brandon Nakashima also received a first-round bye and defeated Sebastian Ofner in straight sets, winning a tightly contested second set. He followed that with another straight-sets victory, this time over Flavio Cobolli.

Daniil Medvedev vs. Brandon Nakashima Head-to-Head Record

Daniil Medvedev leads the head-to-head against Brandon Nakashima with a record of 1-0. They had their first meeting back in 2023, when the 2021 US Open champion, Medvedev, won over Nakashima in straight sets.

Both Medvedev and Nakashima have shown glimpses of form this season but have struggled with consistency. Medvedev has had deeper runs overall, reaching the semifinals in Marseille and Indian Wells, along with quarterfinal appearances in Doha and Dubai. However, his progress stalled with early-round exits in Miami and Monte Carlo.

Nakashima, meanwhile, reached back-to-back semifinals in Acapulco and Houston but has failed to go beyond the round of 16 in any other tournament, including a first-round exit at the Australian Open.
