Pistons vs. Knicks Preview – Detroit Fight for Survival While New York Eyes 3–1 Stranglehold

The Detroit Pistons have one job to do for survival, and that is to beat the New York Knicks on Sunday. Pistons who have been on a home stretch are trailing the series by 2-1. The game will be played at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan at 1 PM ET.

The Pistons had an advantage coming into their home stretch, but they couldn’t really capitalize on it. Their third game loss of 116-118 stole away the momentum they had from the Madison Square Garden games. However, in a positive set of things, Detroit didn’t lag behind and only lost in the dying seconds of the game.

Even the last play had a referee controversy where the officials failed to call a backcourt violation from Jalen Brunson. The officials further shocked the arena with their early whistle. Pistons are now aggressive and hungry to ramp their way into the playoffs’ series. While Detroit seeks redemption, New York arrives with momentum of their own.

New York Knicks Preview

The Knicks did well in the clutch phase of the third game to win by a bare margin. Karl Anthony Towns was their scoring leader from the game as he lodged 31 points. Jalen Brunson, who has been their most consistent player this season, wasn’t far behind with 30 points and 9 assists. Another away win, and the Knicks look at a 3-1 lead.

Detroit Pistons

Jaden Ivey is closer to returning to normal action than ever. The guard who has a broken fibula in his left leg is progressing well with resumption of basketball shooting and skill drills. The Pistons will reevaluate him in the next two weeks. Isaiah Stewart is deemed not fit for the Sunday game as well, and the Pistons will be without their big center for the second straight game.

New York Knicks

Mitchell Robinson, who was in the heat of things with Reed in the third game is reportedly battling illness. The Knicks management has not ruled him out of the Sunday game, as a final call will be taken just hours before the clash.
