Chelsea Willing To Pay Fee To Avoid Triggering Jadon Sancho’s Man Utd Buyout Clause: Reports

Mayur Dedwal

Jadon Sancho has scored two goals in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea in their loan deal with Manchester United have an obligation to buy Jadon Sancho. However, having no plans to keep the winger, The Blues are reportedly willing to pay fine to avoid triggering Sancho’s buyout clause.

Sancho had an obligation with Erik Ten Hag in the 2023/24 season before joining Chelsea on loan. Should the Blues decide to not go through with the buying option, Sancho will still have a year left in his United deal.

Starting his career at Stamford Bridge, the 24-year-old has started 16 games in the Premier League this season. However, managing only two goals and four assists, Sancho has been up for competition.

Jadon Sancho Could Leave Chelsea at the End of the Season

Having failed to step up in the absence of Mudryk and Madueke, Sancho has raised concerns about his move to be made permanent in the Chelsea dugouts.

Talking about the contract situation, Former Liverpool man and pundit Jamie Carragher said to have sympathy for The Blues. He mentioned they should find a way out of the deal as he said:

“It was the wrong timing. Is he still trying to align himself with Rashford? Because Rashford would be foolish to go down that path. Sancho has been ridiculed by Chelsea fans. He should be focused on improving his game instead of alienating himself further.”

“Chelsea must be regretting the fact that they have to buy him. They’ll probably be begging United to find a way out of the deal.”

Borussia Dortmund star who thrived in the Bundesliga has struggled with confidence since moving to the Premier League. Manchester United paid around $103 million for the winger in 2021.

The winger could be back at Old Trafford finding a place under Ruben Amorim should Chelsea find a way out. However, with United looking for wingers already, Sancho is in a loop. In the meantime, he should continue to turn the hearts at Stamford around as they chase the European spot.
