Luka Doncic led the Lakers to another remarkable win.
Luka Doncic, the newest star of the Los Angeles Lakers, once again led the side to another remarkable win. As the Lakers are without their icon LeBron James, Doncic shouldered the responsibility and guided the side to a 125-109 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, March 17.
Doncic has been a valuable addition to the Lakers’ roster since the blockbuster trade. He headed into the game on the back of a game-leading performance against the Suns. In the previous fixture, he came up with 33 points, eleven rebounds and eight assists.
The Spurs, who came on the back of a loss against the Hornets, took early control over the rivals. They were leading the Lakers 9-2 in the first few minutes. However, the Lakers starting lineup consisting of Doncic, Reaves, Goodwin, Finney-Smith and Hayes, didn’t take much time to get into the momentum.
They ended the first quarter with a 32-22 lead, which soon turned into a 65-51 lead at halftime. The home favorites continued their dominance in the third quarter, and ended it with 94-75.

Luka Doncic ended the night with 21 points, nine rebounds, 14 assists, while shooting 5-for-20 from the field and 1-for-7 from three-point range. Doncic finished the first half with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The 26-year-old guard now holds the record of the most consecutive 20-point games for the Lakers since Kobe Bryant in 2013. Moreover, he has four straight double-doubles, which is the longest streak by a Lakers’ guard since 2014.
Luka has played 14 games in the Gold and Purple colors. After having a few underwhelming performances, the former Mavs star found his rhythm back and has been creating havoc since then. He is averaging 26.6 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists for his new side.
In the month of March, he is averaging 30.8 points, 9 rebounds, 9.5 assists and 4.4 three-pointers made. He is on the verge of joining LeBron as the only Lakers players to average 30+ points and 9+ average in a month.
