Ferrari Season Recap 2024

Scuderia Ferrari managed to salvage a good season for themselves with the combined efforts of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. The 2024 season saw Ferrari return to the top spot after their failures in the previous seasons. Ferrari was able to win two of the most important races of the 2024 season. Charles Leclerc led the team to victory at the Monaco Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix. His performance combined with Sainz’s equally impressive campaign was enough to win the hearts of the Tifosi.

Ferrari might not have been the fastest team throughout the season, but they seem to have settled down and learnt from previous mistakes under Vasseur’s leadership. In 2024, Scuderia Ferrari gave us a glimpse of what may happen if they manage to overcome their mistakes and start taking a title charge seriously.

History

Scuderia Ferrari is the oldest team of the 2025 Formula 1 grid. They are the only team to have competed in every season of Formula 1 racing since the start of the series in 1950. Enzo Ferrari founded the Scuderia Ferrari team in 1929 to compete in various motorsport events. Ferrari is the most successful constructor in the history of the sport. They have won 16 Formula 1 titles, which include 15 driver’s titles. Under Ferrari’s charge, the world of Formula 1 saw the rise of Michael Schumacher, who is the driver with most Formula 1 titles under his belt. Ferrari have not won a title for the last 16 years, with their last title coming in 2008 with Kimi Raikkonen.

Predictions for 2025

Scuderia Ferrari has a dynamic driver lineup for the 2025 season. They have a legendary champion of the sport, one of the fastest drivers in the qualifying. But we are sure that Ferrari realises that “with great power comes a clash of egos”. Hamilton was basically pampered by Mercedes as their first driver ever since he joined the team. There is no doubt that Charles Leclerc has been the golden boy of Ferrari since his junior years. How will Ferrari choose between these two drivers, who are used to being the first choice in their respective teams. Will we see a massive clash between the Prancing Horses or will we see one of the drivers taking a step back and playing the team game.

Charles Leclerc is the “man” for Scuderia Ferrari. “Il Predestinato” was a smash hit phenomenon ever since he joined the Italians for his second Formula 1 season. Leclerc made sure that he was not lagging behind his four-time world champion teammate and producing consistently better results. Leclerc joined the championship battle for the first time in his career with Ferrari’s SF22. The 2022 season saw Charles Leclerc lose the championship from a very positive lead. Since then, Leclerc has been working onwards to produce a better version of himself every year. The 2024 season was arguably one of his best seasons in Formula 1. He was a fast driver; he was amazingly successful in qualifying. He managed to win two important races. Leclerc won at one of the fastest tracks and at one of the slowest tracks on the calendar.

He holds a multitude of records in Formula 1 and is the most victorious driver in the history of the sport. The past few seasons have not been as fantastic for Hamilton. The Mercedes team, which he commandeered to success found themselves in a tight spot with the new regulations. Hamilton could not find himself on the podium as frequently anymore. Things were looking grim before he decided to switch allegiances and turn over a new page with Ferrari. His exit from Mercedes was considerably better with two wins to his name in the 2024 season. Will Hamilton break a decade and half old curse for his new team? or will we have to have until the magical eighth? 2025 will be the key to answering these questions.
