Aaron Rodgers Is One Step Closer to Fulfilling the Brett Favre Prophecy!

After just two seasons with the New York Jets, Rodgers’ marriage with the Jets has come to an end. Now that Rodgers is a free agent, he’s looking for a new home. While there were multiple teams trying to sign Rodgers earlier, now the list is narrowing down and you will never believe where the 4x NFL MVP could land next.

Rodgers finished his two-year career with the Jets with 3897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a pass completion rate of 63.0. Looking at his age, Rodgers is still producing decently but obviously not to standards that he was used to, when he was younger.

Recently a new team has emerged for Rodgers to go to next, and it is none other than the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings lost Sam Darnold in the free agency to Seattle Seahawks and even though Minnesota has a young QB in J.J. McCarthy, one cannot be too sure about if he’ll come back a 100% from the injury and could maybe need some more time to get ready for the NFL. According to Dianna Russini, the former Packer is “intrigued,” by the idea of playing for Minnesota.

Funnily enough, if Rodgers was to join the Vikings, he could also fulfill Favre’s prophecy and follow in his footsteps again. Let’s see what all this is about.

Brett Favre Wants Rodgers To Sign With the Vikings!

The Minnesota Vikings already has a QB they want to develop around in the near future. However McCarthy has not played an NFL game yet and may still take some time to get back on his feet.

In comes Aaron Rodgers who could just be exactly what the team needs. He brings in veteran leadership, can mentor J.J. McCarthy, and given the Vikings’ personnel, Rodgers could revive his NFL career. After all, when you have a target like Justin Jefferson, any quarterback will have a much easier time.

Even Brett Favre wants Rodgers to sign with the Vikings, as he said “By all means, sign with them. They got a really good football team. They’re loaded at pretty much every position.”

Brett Favre’s Prophecy

It is not exactly a prophecy and more like a speculative narrative. You can think of it as a fan-driven storyline that gained a whole lot of traction. If Rodgers is to sign with the Vikings, he will more or less follow the exact same career trajectory as Favre’s.

Favre played for 20 NFL seasons and spent 16 years playing for the Green Bay Packers. He established himself as a hall of famer and also won multiple MVPs and a Super Bowl trophy, just like Rodgers. Then he was traded to the New York Jets in 2008 but that stint was shaky as the Jets went 9-7 in this season (just like Rodgers who played two seasons for the Jets but neither sides were happy at the end result). After playing for one season for the Jets, Favre took his talents to the Vikings where he revived his NFL career and came close to making a Super Bowl appearance.

Aaron Rodgers has a chance to do the funniest thing ever, for a quarterback but we do not know if the Vikings want to sign Rodgers yet.

The Vikings are discussing what they want to do at the quarterback spot and if they want Rodgers.
Rodgers is being patient and waiting for the Vikings to respond.
The Vikings have not made a decision yet and we will all have to wait.
