On the Run It Back show, DeMarcus Cousins have labelled the Suns as the most "disappointing" team.
The Phoenix Suns are in dire need of help after their 18-point loss to the Toronto Raptors. The franchise has only won three of their last eleven games and are short of solutions to their problems.
On the Run It Back show, DeMarcus Cousins have labelled the Suns as the most “disappointing” team. The Suns’ are 27-30 after starting 12-4 in the early season and have only won two games in their last 10.
When asked, “Are they the most disappointing so far this season?
DeMarcus Cousins replied with, “Disappointing, Yes.”
He also raised questions on the front-office decisions to put together a team like this. The decision taken to bring big names together have backfired on the franchise future.
“It’s been something every year with this team. I take it back to when they were first constructed—it just wasn’t a good job constructing this team. No flow, no chemistry, no camaraderie, really. It’s just a group of great names that just don’t fit together.” DeMarcus Cousins on Suns’ Big-3

The franchise traded for Kevin Durant in February 2023. They let go of the core players in Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson who played vital roles in their 2021 Finals run. After adding, Bradley Beal in June 2023, the Suns let go of the veteran point guard, Chris Paul. The franchise also traded away Deandre Ayton for his disciplinary and work ethic reasons.
The Suns also struggled to bring back replacements for the departed players. Jusuf Nurkic at center was a failed experiment who was traded to Charlotte Hornets in February 2025.
DeMarcus Cousins also talks about the most likely star to leave the franchise after the 2024-25 NBA season.
The former center implies that the main goal for the franchise should be to get their assets back for a strong rebuild. He hints that Devin Booker and Kevin Durant maybe the easy pieces to trade for multiple assets.
"The Suns would get plenty of assets back for Devin Booker. Obviously Kevin Durant would be on the move, they can get assets for him as well. The hardest guy to trade would be Bradley Beal."@BoogieCousins suggest a full-blown rebuild in Phoenix 😬 pic.twitter.com/SCltE9qukN

According to Cousins, Bradley Beal will be the hardest piece to trade due to his no-trade clause. The guard is also on a five-year $251 million deal which could push away the suitable buyers.
