Sunday Night was a bittersweet experience for the New York folks. The New York Liberty won their first WNBA title, but the Jets and the Mets lost. The Jets are now 2-5 through Week 7.  The Steelers have a contrasting number in front of their name, with a 5-2 win record through Week 7. 

Russell Wilson and the Steelers looked in control and addressed the problem they had in the first 6 games of the season. They finally got the offense running! And not only the offense, the defense looked equally good. 

In the post game interview, Russell Wilson said, “We were capable of a lot together, a lot more to go get, we believe that. Credits to Justin because of how he got us here in this position.”

After a shaky start, Russell Wilson proved to the world why Mike Tomlin’s faith in giving him the opportunity to be the starting QB was not misplaced. The veteran QB completed 16 of his 29 passes for 264 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wilson also rushed the ball for a yard to score another touchdown. 

Russell Wilson’s first home game for the Steelers also helped him set the franchise record for the most passing yards by a QB in his debut for the Steelers. The Steelers defense also looked robust as they conceded 15 in the first half but managed to stop the charge of Rodgers, Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams (whose debut for the Jets wasn’t what he expected).

Beanie Bishop Jr. added his name to the history books as he became the 5th player to intercept Aaron Rodgers twice in a single game.

The Jets looked well on their way to win the game, till they didn’t. Aaron Rodgers and co. failed to score a single point in the second half of the game. To make matters worse, Rodgers got intercepted twice by Beanie Bishop Jr.

The Jets offense looked really good in the first 2 quarters, thanks to the addition of Davante Adams. For the first time, they could run the ball around but a spectacular defense from the Steelers in the last 2 quarters made them look helpless.
