How much will Jimmy Butler earn with the Warriors?

The NBA fans were once again surprised as Shams Charania revealed that after much deliberation, the Miami Heat found a new home for Jimmy Butler. The star forward was traded to the Golden State Warriors in a multi-team deal which includes the Detroit Pistons as well as the Utah Jazz.

Under the deal, the Warriors will get Butler, while the Heat will have Andrew Wiggins, PJ Tucker, Kyle Anderson and a protected 1st round pick. On the other hand, the Pistons will get Lindy Waters and Josh Richardson while the Jazz will acquire Dennis Schroder.

Butler joined the Heat in 2019, when he was traded in a four-team deal from the 76ers. With Butler, Miami made it to the finals in 2020 after they defeated the Boston Celtics, which also turned out to be Butler’s first final appearance. Not only this but he also became the first No. 8 seed to reach an NBA Finals since 1999.

The six-time NBA star also led Miami to three conference finals in four seasons and another NBA finals as well, in 2003.

Butler played a total of 316 games for the Heat, and in the current season, he is averaging at 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. His last appearance for the Florida side came during their 116-107 loss to the Trail Blazers on Jan. 21, where he finished with 13 points, four rebounds and eight assists.

Jimmy Butler’s salary and contract with Golden State Warriors

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, Butler has agreed to a new two-year $121 million extension with his new side, the Golden State Warriors through 2026-27.

Not only this, but he has also declined the player option in his previous contract for the Heat, which would have got him more than $52 million.

As per Bobby Marks, the 35-year-old will get $54.1 million in the 2025-26 season, and his salary is expected to increase in the 2026-27 season to $56.8 million.

Now that Butler has signed his new contract, it seems that he is ready to join Steph Curry in the squad, but it is yet to be seen when he dons his new jersey. The Warriors will be up against the LA Lakers on Thursday, Jan. 6.
