Andy Reid is one of the winningest coaches of all time in the history of the NFL. He has been coaching for nearly three decades in the NFL and has continued his winning habits even till this day! He started his head coaching career with the Philadelphia Eagles and spent 14 years with the team. He helped the Eagles get to the playoffs 9 times but could not win a Super Bowl.

After spending 14 seasons with the Eagles, he was fired by Jeffrey Lurie. The reason? The Eagles had lost 12 games and only won 4. As soon as Reid was relieved of his duty, the Chiefs hired Reid as their head coach in 2013.

After the signing of Andy Reid, the Chiefs have never looked back. The Chiefs have won double-digits games in the regular season every single year expect 2014. They have been the AFC Championship round for 7 consecutive seasons and have won multiple championships together. The Chiefs won two Super Bowls in back-to-back seasons. However, Reid and the Chiefs’ dreams to three-peat were shattered by the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX.

The Chiefs were just a win away from three-peating but Nick Sirianni’s defense absolutely clamped the Chiefs’ offense. Defense wins championships is a mantra that many of the winningest coaches follow in every team sport. The Chiefs are know for their elite defense but the Eagles were even better and they beat Kansas at their own game.

As a head coach, Andy Reid has been to the Super Bowl six times in his career. He has won three Super Bowls in head coaching career and one as an assistant coach for the Green Bay Packers. However, he has lost three Super Bowl matchups so far making him 3 out of 6. His Super Bowl losses came against the New England Patriots in the 2004 NFL season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, and now the Philadelphia Eagles in 2025. His loss to the Eagles was by far the most embarrassing loss of his career.

How many teams has Andy Reid coached in his career?

As a head coach, Andy Reid has only coached two teams and they are; the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. He spent 14 years coaching the Eagles and has been with the Chiefs for 12 seasons.

Reid started his NFL coaching career with the Green Bay Packers where he was the offensive line assistant and tight ends coach. He was later named a quarterbacks coach in 1997 before moving on to become the head coach for the Eagles on January 11th, 1999.
