76ers star, Paul George gets booed on his home court after shooting struggle

The boos started up and got louder and louder when Paul George was 4-for-17.

The Philadelphia 76ers star, Paul George’s shooting struggle in the NBA continues this season. During the game against the Phoenix Suns, the NBA All-Star was booed soundly on his home court.

Philadelphia 76ers ended their road trip 4-2 and returned home to face the Phoenix Suns on Saturday. Paul George dropped another woeful show with his shooting and the 76ers halted their two-game winning streak at home with a 109-99 loss.

The Sixers struggled in the offense as they shot only 39.1% from the floor and allowed the Suns to shoot 50.6% as a team. Paul George finished with only 13 points while shooting 5-for-18 which was a terrible performance for the nine-time NBA All-Star. He also had nine rebounds and five assists but his struggle in shooting was well-noticed.

The boos started up and got louder and louder when Paul George was 4-for-17. Tyrese Maxey posted a double-double for the 76ers with 31 points and 10 assists. Kelly Oubre Jr also had a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Paul George and Nick Nurse addressed shooting struggle after loss

Paul George also heard plenty of boos in his first game against the LA Clippers when he received a video tribute. The veteran is averaging 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists per game and his field-goal percentage dropped to 41.4.

“Just keep shooting,” George said after the loss. “I think, just try to find a rhythm here. I thought I was getting into a good rhythm on the road. Just find a rhythm here. That’s it. Once I find a rhythm here, kind of settle myself, and then have an expectation of where I need to play once I get that rhythm.”

“Yeah, but it’s no excuse,” George replied when the 34-year-old was asked about his knee injury behind the shooting slump. “I’m trying to work through it, but if I’m out on the floor, I’m fine enough to play.”

Philadelphia coach, Nick Nurse also addressed Paul George’s poor shooting by saying, “He’s in there with a lot of the guys tonight as far as generating good shots and shots that we want them to take — and for whatever reason, they just weren’t going in tonight.”
