With cup action almost complete, the final two are set to battle for one of the WNBA’s newest and richest titles.
The 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup is swiftly moving towards conclusion with the regular games ending. Two top-tier teams have secured their place in what promises to be a big championship showdown with a significant prize pool on the line.
Despite opening their WNBA season with struggles, the Indiana Fever found their rhythm during the Commissioner’s Cup and delivered consistently. They eventually topped the Eastern Conference standings with a strong 4-1 record, edging out other contenders.

Over in the Western Conference, the Minnesota Lynx secured the top seed for the second straight year, continuing their dominance. They finished with a record of 5-1. While the second best remained the Phoenix Sun with a 4-2 win, loss record.

The Indiana Fever, who finished atop the East, became the first team to officially qualify for the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Final. Both Indiana and New York ended with identical 4–1 records, but the Fever earned the edge via head-to-head tiebreaker after a recent win over the Liberty.
The Minnesota Lynx from the Western Conference will face the Indiana Fever in the finals. This will be the Lynx’s second consecutive appearance in the championship game. They defeated the New York Liberty in last year’s final.
This year’s Commissioner’s Cup champions will claim a $500,000 prize purse, to be evenly distributed among the roster. The average amount each player is likely to get is $41,700. Tournament sponsor Coinbase will also award an additional $120,000 in cryptocurrency to be split among winners.
Meanwhile, the Runners-Up team will receive $10,000. Every player competing in the 2025 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Final is guaranteed an extra $5,000 in crypto courtesy of Coinbase’s sponsorship.
