MLS Cup 2024 playoffs started with some surprises and heartbreaks. The biggest surprise was the exit of Messi’s Inter Miami, losing the first round of playoff to Atlanta United. Charlotte FC also suffered a heartbreak in the penalty shootout against Orlando City. As the competition approaches ahead, eight teams are left in MLS Cup playoffs and we start with the Conference semifinals. Here, we discuss the remaining teams in the MLS Cup, schedule, finals and more:
Remaining teams in MLS Cup 2024 Playoffs
This year’s playoffs were full of surprises and we witnessed a classic drama in Major League Soccer. Defending champions Columbus Crew faced elimination in the first round against New York Red Bulls to set up a Hudson River Derby with New York City FC who overcame FC Cincinnati. On the other side, Inter Miami who won the Supporters’ Shield and finished at the top in the Eastern Conference lost to wild-card side Atlanta United. Meanwhile, Orlando held the nerves in the decider to beat Charlotte FC.
On the Western Conference, LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders and Minnesota United made their progress easier with two straight wins in playoffs. Los Angeles FC defeated the Vancouver Whitecap in the third game to reach the conference semifinals.
Here are the remaining teams in each conference, qualified for the next round of MLS Cup playoffs:
Eastern Conference

Conference Semifinals
Conference semifinals will be played on November 23 and 24, 2024. The higher-seeded team as determined by regular season ranking will host the match. NYCFC, Orlando City, LAFC, and LA Galaxy will take advantage of the top seedings.
Eastern Conference

The rule will be the same in the Conference Finals as the higher-seeded team in the regular season ranking will host the match.

MLS Cup 2024
MLS Cup 2024 will be played between the winners of the Conference finals. The highest-ranked finalist in the overall Supporters’ Shield table will host the match. The 2024 MLS Cup will be played on December 7, 2024, and all games of the MLS playoffs will be live on Apple TV.
