YouTube Superstar MrBeast Compares Himself to NBA Legend Kobe Bryant !

Asked about the "MrBeast of basketball", YouTube superstar couldn't help but citing NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

The NBA is full of fascinating stories, and while it’s primarily a basketball league, it’s not uncommon to see celebrities from other fields referencing iconic players. However, no one could have predicted that a YouTuber would one day compare himself to Kobe Bryant!

During a podcast with Shaquille O’Neal, MrBeast, the world’s most famous YouTuber, revealed that he draws a lot of inspiration from Kobe’s work ethic. The Lakers icon and basketball legend is often cited as an example of discipline and relentless dedication. But hearing a YouTuber mention his name in this way is a true testament to the timeless impact of the late superstar.

Like Kobe, MrBeast is a true workhorse. With tens of millions of views on each of his videos, the American entrepreneur has built an empire on YouTube. Jimmy (his nickname) is now the most-followed content creator in the world, boasting no less than 352 million subscribers.

When Shaq asked James Stephen Donaldson—his real name—who he thought would be the “MrBeast of basketball,” his response was immediate.

“Without hesitation, Kobe. His mindset, his total focus. He lived and breathed his passion. I really see myself in him.” He then added, “I read his biography, and I love watching his interviews. Nothing motivates me more than hearing Kobe talk about what drove him!”

A rather amusing answer in front of the former Lakers center, whose relationship with the Black Mamba was not always smooth due to their contrasting approaches—Shaq’s more laid-back style being the opposite of Kobe’s relentless drive.
