WNBA Same Game Parlay for Mercury vs Dream: Picks and Game Prediction

The second half of the WNBA season is going to break many dreams. Teams that have been sustaining a healthy campaign can take a hit due to injuries and bad form. Atlanta Dream (13-10) is drifting away after a healthy start.

They have lost their best three-point shooter, Rhyne Howard, for the month at least. The Dream needed her because they had lost six of their last nine games.

On the other hand, the Phoenix Mercury must be relishing the Howard-less Dream. They are comfortably stationed at the third position in the WNBA standings. Phoenix will have a huge chance to win against the Dream, the latter playing a back-to-back game.

WNBA SGP Pick #1- Satou Sabally- Points

Sabally has been the leading scorer for the Mercury. She was clocking over 20 points/game earlier in the season, but her average has come down to 19.1 PPG. One big reason has been the returns of Alyssa Thomas and Kahleah Copper.

Sabally missed four games before the All-Star game but will be back after a long break. I expect her fresh legs to aid in her compiling at least 15+ points against the exhausted and short-handed Dream.

WNBA SGP Pick #2- Alyssa Thomas- Points

Mercury’s Floor General, AT, has been the most reliable playmaker in the league. But apart from her assists, the MVP candidate is also scoring at a high clip. Thomas is tallying 15.2 PPG this season, but her scoring has increased recently.

AT scored 15 or more in five of the seven games before the All-Star Break. I expect her to score at least 13 here, too.

WNBA SGP Pick #3- Allisha Gray- Points

Gray’s scoring responsibilities have multiplied after Howard’s absence. She has to carry an additional load because of the inconsistencies of Brionna Jones and, especially, Britney Griner. The Dream guard is averaging 18.6 PPG and has seen a fall in scoring.

Her 24-point performance came after putting up 18 or fewer in four straight games. At any rate, I think she will at least score at least 16 here in the absence of reliable offense from the three-point line, especially.

Mercury vs Dream Prediction

The above picks are largely safe. The Mercury undoubtedly enters as the favorite to win this game. They will come after a week’s rest and with health on their side. On the other hand, Atlanta has been hurt both physically and psychologically.

You never know when such a team can rise for a big performance. However, Phoenix will enter as the overwhelming favorite and should cover the spread here. Additionally, Thomas can be on a triple-double watch here.
