Fever Rally After Slow Start, Clark Struggles

The Indiana Fever registered a crucial victory over the Atlanta Dream on Friday. Despite Caitlin Clark’s off night, the Fever showed again they’re capable of beating top teams without relying on her.

The Atlanta Dream made a sharp start, edging ahead with a narrow lead in the first quarter. They continued that rhythm in the second quarter, leading again by two points. Jordin Canada was taking the game away from the Indiana Fever.

However, the hosts responded strongly in the third quarter with a nine point lead. Their performance in the last 10 minutes of the game was even more dominant, where they scored 30 points against the Dream’s 17. This resulted in a 99-82 win for the Indiana Fever.

Caitlin Clark was limited to 12 points, but added nine assists to keep her impact intact. Kelsey Mitchell powered through with 25 points, Aliyah Boston with 19, and Sophie Cunningham with 16. On the Dream’s side, Jordin Canada scored 30 points.

WNBA Results: Storm’s Team Effort Outshines Charles’ Push

In the second WNBA game on Friday, the Seattle Storm hosted the Connecticut Sun. The game kept going back and forth till the last quarter. The struggling Sun found early rhythm, taking a slim lead after the opening quarter. In the second quarter, Storm closed the deficit with a 21-17 performance.

Sun still had a marginal lead going into the second half. However, the hosts were too good to stay in the deficit. They recorded a score of 24-19 in the third quarter that ensured the lead coming back to the Seattle side. While the Sun leaned heavily on Tina Charles, Seattle delivered a well-rounded team performance.

Gabby Williams scored 18, Nneka Ogwumike 16, Ezi Magbegor 14, Skylar Diggins 14. This ensured a 79-65 win for the Seattle Storm, taking them to the fourth position in the WNBA points table.
