On August 28, the WNBA showcased dominant wins as the Minnesota Lynx overpowered the Connecticut Sun, Golden State Valkyries crushed the Washington Mystics, Seattle Storm edged the Chicago Sky, and Phoenix Mercury rallied past the New York Liberty.

WNBA Results: Connecticut Sun 70-94 Minnesota Lynx

The Minnesota Lynx went back to their winning ways after overcoming the Connecticut Sun on Saturday. The Sun delivered a solid opening performance, but the Lynx’s surge in the second quarter provided them with a substantial lead in the game.

Once more in the third quarter, the Connecticut Sun attempted to narrow the difference against their opponents, but the fourth quarter execution handed the Lynx a 94-70 victory. Alanna Smith, and Dijonai Carrington, each scored 18 points in the victory.

The Golden State Valkyries sustained their push in the late part of the season by securing a solid win over their playoff rivals, the Mystics. The home team completely controlled the Washington Mystics throughout every one of the four quarters.

They achieved a 99-62 victory, highlighted by Janelle Salaun’s contribution of 20 points to the score. Kaila Charles also scored 15 points. On the Mystics’ side, Sug Sutton put up 17.

The Seattle Storm have nearly secured their spot in the playoffs through a 79-69 victory against the Sky. The weekend contest remained competitive between the two teams, but the home court advantage provided the additional boost needed for Seattle.

Nneka Ogwumike scored 20 points, and collected 7 rebounds. Gabby Williams and Skylar Diggins each contributed 12 points to the team’s effort in the victory. For the Sky, Angel Reese contributed a double-double with 20 points, and 10 rebounds.
