Will Jimmy Butler Play Tonight? Update on Warriors Superstar’s Availability for Game 4 vs. Houston Rockets

The Golden State Warriors will host the Houston Rockets for the second home-court matchup of the playoff series on Monday night. With a crucial 2-1 lead in the series, the Warriors would look to extend their winning run at home. However, Jimmy Butler’s injury has been a major concern for the Dubs heading to Game 4 at Chase Center.

Despite being questionable, and Steve Kerr’s optimistic thoughts before the game, Jimmy Butler was not part of the Warriors’ 103-94 victory in Game 3. The former Miami star left the game in Game 2 after taking a hard fall on a foul by Houston’s Amen Thompson. Butler is poised to return after recuperating from a hip contusion.

Is Jimmy Butler Playing Tonight?

With the series standing 2-1 in favour of the Warriors, Jimmy Butler is listed as questionable for Monday’s Game 4 against the Rockets. The Warriors’ injury report lists the star forward’s injury as a left pelvic contusion.

On Saturday, Jimmy Butler worked out on the practice court pregame. As per Anthony Slater, the medical team held him out to give his body two more days to heal, but there’s a belief he will be back for Game 4 on Monday night.

Jimmy Butler, a six-time All-Star, also had a conversation with Jonathan Kuminga, who was inserted in the starting lineup in his absence. Kuminga logged 16 minutes and scored 7 points on 3-of-7 shooting.

Jimmy Butler averaged 17.9 points, 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds in 30 regular-season games for the Warriors. He was instrumental in his team’s victory in Game 1, scoring 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Apart from Butler, Gary Payton II’s status has been upgraded after being questionable due to a right shoulder strain. He is off the injury report alongside Brandin Podziemksi.
