As per the current report of Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet, rookie Bronny James will miss out Sunday’s game, and he can take up to one more week due to a left heel contusion. The No. 55 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, is likely to start an on-court ramp-up this week with the team medical and coaching staff.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN reported that Bronny James’ heel injury is progressing, and he will be reevaluated in one week. Bronny James last played for the Los Angeles Lakers on November 10 against the Toronto Raptors, and his stay was for just 2 minutes. He played three straight games from Nov. 13-16 and missed next six games for the Lakers.

James has scored four points, two assists, one rebound and one steal over 16 minutes across six NBA appearances this season. The 20-year-old is averaging five points, three assists, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and one block on 21.1% shooting from the field and 100 percent shooting from the free-throw line in two games with South Bay.

The Los Angeles Lakers are already dealing with injury concerns ahead of the road trip. Backup center Jaxson Hayes will miss the next two to three weeks due to an ankle injury. Christian Wood and Jarred Vanderbilt are yet to make their season debuts.
The Lakers have already failed to defend their NBA Cup title this season and faced elimination in the group play. Meanwhile, Los Angeles have posted an 11-8 record and are sitting eighth in the Western Conference.
