After securing a place in NBA Cup knockouts, the Atlanta Hawks continued their winning run with a 107-104 win over the Charlotte Hornets, who dropped their fifth straight game. Jalen Johnson poured in 20 points and nine assists, while De’Andre Hunter added 18 points for the Hawks. Onyeka Okongwu also contributed 16 points and 11 rebounds. Trae Young and Zaccharie Risacher had 14 points apiece. Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 32 points, and his 3-pointer reduced the deficit to one point in the final minute. However, Hunter scored two free throws with 9.7 seconds left.
Despite an early injury of Andre Drummond, the Philadelphia 76ers overcame the Pistons in a dominating game. Tyrese Maxey scored 28 points, and Jared McCain chipped in 19 points. Ricky Council IV scored 17, and KJ Martin produced 19 points. Malik Beasley paced the Pistons with 19 points and Jaden Ivey had 15 points. Sixers had a 20-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter and Pistons tried to pull off with a 27-22 run but it wasn’t enough. Pistons fell to 9-11 and 76ers have slightly improved to 4-12.
The two-time MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, scored 42 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists on his return, and the Bucks routed the struggling Washington Wizards. He now has three triple-doubles in the last six games. Damian Lillard finished with 25 points and ten assists, while Brook Lopez chipped in 18 points for the Bucks. Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 31 points, and Malcolm Brogdon contributed 29 points and 11 rebounds. Washington’s poor season continues as they dropped the 14th straight game and fell to 2-16.

Phoenix Suns surprised the Golden State Warriors with a 113-105 win and improved to 11-8. Devin Booker scored 27 points, and Kevin Durant poured in 21 for the Suns. Tyus Jones had 19 points and nine assists, while Grayson Allen added 17. Warriors were 17 points behind at the half-break, and Curry scored 15 in the final quarter to add some drama. A 9-0 run couldn’t help the Warriors as Durant’s 3-pointer with 1:42 left assured a fourth straight loss for the Golden State. Stephen Curry paced the Warriors with 23 points. Andrew Wiggins added 18 points while Draymond Green chipped in 13 points.
Dallas Mavericks held the nerves against Utah to secure their fourth win out of the last five. Without the key players, Doncic and Kyle Thompson, Dallas controlled the game from the start with a 40-22 lead in the first quarter. Utah pulled off with a 27-16 run in the second quarter, but they couldn’t retain it in the remaining two. Kyrie Irving racked up 30 points, and Quentin Grimes hit 24 for the Mavericks. P.J. Washington scored a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Lauri Markkanen chipped in 19 points, and Walker Kessler added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz.
