There is no official confirmation that Drummond will be out from the next game against the Hornets.
The Philadelphia 76ers assured a vital win against the Pistons, but they suffered a big blow as Andre Drummond sustained an injury during the game. The 31-year-old center had a blow three minutes into the contest. He had to leave the court after landing awkwardly after a tip-in.
Philadelphia has lost a backup center, and they’re already dealing with the injury of Joel Embiid. Andre was on the ground in serious pain, grabbing at his right ankle. He didn’t return to the game and Sixers have listed him on their injury report.
Andre Drummond had an ankle sprain and was in serious pain during the first quarter. Ricky Council IV and Justin Edwards helped him to the locker room. He put pressure on his left foot because his right foot wasn’t active much due to injury. Later, The 76ers confirmed that Drummond would not return to the court due to a right ankle sprain.

Drummond twisted his right ankle after stepping on Tobias Harris’ foot, which looked like a serious injury. Meanwhile, his injury didn’t hurt the Sixers, as they managed a good lead over the Pistons throughout the game. Heading into the fourth quarter, Philadelphia had a 20-point edge, and they managed to secure their fourth win of the season.
Sixers entered the NBA contest against the Pistons without Joel Embiid, Caleb Martin, Kyle Lowry, and Reggie Jackson. Drummond has been another one to add to the list for Philadelphia.
“I don’t know,” coach Nick Nurse speaks on Drummond’s injury. “Again, they did all the X-Rays and stuff, and it is just a sprain. So there’s nothing else there. I mean, he’s going to be in a boot, yeah, I’d say a minute. I think they heard Simon (Rice) say something like, it’s maybe not as bad as it looked, but again, it’s a sprain. He’s a big guy, all that kind of stuff. Yeah.”
The 76ers have decided to try Adem Bona in place of Drummond, and the 21-year-old rookie may handle rim duty for the upcoming game. There is no official confirmation that Drummond will be out from the next game against the Hornets. The 76ers are already out of the NBA Cup, so they can take a risk of not playing him. We can see the 31-year-old center in the regular season clash against Orlando Magic.
