Who is Carlos Alcaraz’s Coach? A Look at the Spaniard’s Current Coach

Alcaraz is chasing a 5th Grand Slam title at 22.

Earlier this year, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner declared Carlos Alcaraz as the “strongest player on clay.” The Spanish superstar proved him right by winning the 2025 Roland Garros title in a hard-fought five set battle, upsetting top seed Sinner in the process. Defending the trophy at Roland Garros, Carlitos has remained aggressive and tactical in his approach this year.

The 22-year-old has made minor tweaks to his game – including an extension of his arms on the backhand wing – to give him a better shot at meeting the ball accurately and generating more power. Naturally, he has a phenomenal team that gives him everything required to excel on the biggest stages of tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz Coach

Juan Carlos Ferrero is the current head coach of Carlos Alcaraz. They have been working together since 2019, and have won a herd of accolades together. As a player, Ferrero won the French Open title in 2003 – and also finished as the runner-up of the US Open that same year. He won 16 singles trophies during his career, and reached the quarterfinals of the Olympics in 2000.

Prior to his long-term collaboration with Alcaraz, Juan Carlos coached German star Alexander Zverev between 2017 and 2018. The current World No. 3 secured two ATP Masters-1000 championships with JCF at the helm. Along with the Spanish coach, Alcaraz also has Samuel Lopez as an assistant mentor – the 55-year-old joined the setup in 2024.

In 2023, Carlos Alcaraz hailed Juan Carlos Ferrero as his “second father”, which signifies the equation that the duo shares on and off the court.

Carlos Alcaraz Past Coaches

Growing up, the defending French Open and Wimbledon champ was coached by Kiko Navarro. Just like his ATP compatriot Jannik Sinner, Alcaraz started playing tennis at a very young age due to his father. It was Navarro who fine tuned his game during his initial days. In 2018, the Spaniard moved to Villena to train at the Ferrero Tennis Academy, which ended the association with Navarro.

Who Manages Carlos Alcaraz?

Albert Molina is the manager of World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz. The Spanish bull, hailed by many as the next Rafael Nadal, gave fans an insight into his life in the recent Netflix docu-series ‘My Way’. One of the features of this was the appearance of his manager/agent Molina. He was showcased as the man in charge of all the daily schedules of Alcaraz.

Molina particularly turned heads during an interaction after Alcaraz was late for a sponsorship meeting. “That day I got angry with him, but not because of punctuality,” he said. “It bothered me not because of being late. For me, it was a lack of respect towards other people and that’s what I cannot tolerate with Carlos.”

“It doesn’t matter if you’re No. 1 in the world. Nobody has to wait for you, Carlos!” Although the exact duration of their partnership is unknown, Molina is believed to be an old inclusion of the Alcaraz team.
