Ben Safar will start his NBA career with Brooklyn Nets.
Ben Saraf is a 6-foot-5 left handed guard from Israel, who has carved out a reputation as one of basketball’s most promising young stars. His elite playmaking ability, highlighted by his pinpoint passing and effortless court vision, sets him apart as a natural floor general. Brooklyn Nets found the talent in him and selected him as the 26th pick in the 2025 NBA draft.

Starting his professional career at the age of 16 with Elitzur Netanya in Israel’s second division, Saraf quickly ascended to the Israeli Premier League, earning Rising Star honors in 2023-24 with 10.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.
Now with Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany’s Bundesliga (the only draft prospect who was still actively playing late into June and near the NBA draft), he’s averaged 12.3 points and 4.3 assists, showcasing his scoring and facilitating prowess. Saraf’s mid-range shooting and downhill drives, along with sound fundamentals draws a lot of comparisons to NBA Legend, Manu Ginobili, who is a four-time NBA champion, and is one of the greatest international players to play in the NBA. The only skill that Saraf needs to work on, is his three-point shooting since he be streaky with his shooting at times.
His MVP performance at 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBasket, where he led the league in scoring, shows his dominance. If you watch the exhibition game against the Portland Trail Blazers in 2024, you can clearly see that Saraf is a playmaking-scoring threat, who is also phenomenal with his off-ball movement, marking him as an intriguing talent coming into the NBA setup.
Ben Saraf’s parents are Yadid Saraf and Ella Amir. Both of his parents played basketball in Israel’s first division when they were younger, when influenced Ben’s early start in basketball.

Ben Saraf’s father is Yadid Saraf who played basketball. Unfortunately, not much is known about him at the moment, apart from the fact that he too was a hooper who played in first division of Israeli Basketball league.
Ben Saraf’s mother is named Ella Amir. She was a professional basketball player, and a star in the Women’s national team in Israel.
Both his parents, Ella Amir and Yadid Saraf, are Israelis. According to reports, his parents only played professional basketball within Israel and not anywhere else.

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
