Manaea has been the Mets’ strongest arm since he adjusted his pitching mechanics in late July. He wrapped up the regular season with a 3.09 ERA in his final 12 games and carried that momentum into the postseason, where he’s sporting a 2.25 ERA in two starts. His standout performance came in NLDS Game 3, where he threw seven innings, giving up just one run—arguably the best start of his career.
In his lone matchup against the Dodgers this season, Manaea allowed only two runs over five innings, shaking off a previous rough history with them. He sees Game 2 as another chance “to go out there and prove again” that he’s evolved into a much better pitcher at this stage.
