Before last year’s US Open, Misolic trained with Djokovic. In his career, the Austrian has already faced former major champions Dominic Thiem and Stan Wawrinka. He has won three ATP Challenger titles, including the most recent one in Prague, and six ITF titles between 2021 and 2022.

This season, Misolic has shown flashes of promise on the Challenger circuit with finals appearances in Tenerife and Prague, alongside several quarterfinal runs. Though his ATP Tour experience is still limited, with a YTD of 3-1.

It’s been a stop-start season for Djokovic, marked by injury setbacks, but the results keep coming. He began with a quarterfinal in Brisbane, saw his Australian Open run end early due to a leg injury in the semis, then surged back with a runner-up finish in Miami. Most recently, he lifted his milestone 100th career title in Geneva, edging Hubert Hurkacz in a pair of tense tiebreaks.
