Sao Paulo Brazil to host the Chiefs and Chargers tonight!
The Kansas City Chiefs are back for their first regular-season game of the year. The Chiefs will be looking to put last season’s Super Bowl LIX loss behind them as soon as possible.
The new look Chiefs team for this season is expected to be better than their previous campaign, though not necessarily in terms of overall record. In 2024, Kansas City won multiple one-score games on its way to a 15-2 record.
Missing wide receiver Rashee Rice for the first six games due to a league-enforced suspension will be a big loss, but the AFC West powerhouse will look to second-year wideout Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown for big contributions.

The Kansas City Chiefs play their first game of the 2025-26 NFL season against AFC West divisional rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers. This will also be the first International series game of the season, as both teams are set to play in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
As divisional rivals, these two teams have met each other plenty of times and have a strong rivalry going. Last season, the Chiefs won both their regular season games against the Chargers, but neither of them was in convincing fashion.
The first game ended 17-10 in favor of Kansas City, while the second was even closer with a 19-17 finish. However, that is in the past, and both teams have undergone changes during the offseason, so it will be interesting to see what type of start they can get off to.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to play the Los Angeles Chargers at 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 p.m. CT). This is the second consecutive prime time game to take place following the Eagles and Cowboys season opener yesterday.
The game will be held at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil, making it only the second game hosted on the South American continent. Kansas City is designated as the away team.

nfl I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
