Week 9 Thursday Night Football Result – Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews, and Derrick Henry Shine as the Ravens Dismantle the Dolphins

Lamar Jackson's return provides a huge boost for the Ravens as they take down the Dolphins on TNF!

Week 9 of the 2025-26 NFL season got off to a start with Thursday Night Football (TNF) pitting two teams in a must-win type of game. The Miami Dolphins (2-6) hosted the Baltimore Ravens (2-5) as Lamar Jackson returned after missing the previous 3 games due to a hamstring injury.

Jackson looked like he didn’t miss a beat and continued his rich form in the season as he led the Ravens to a comfortable 28-6 win over the Dolphins on TNF’s prime-time slot.

Dolphins Mistakes Allow Ravens to Take Early Lead

The first quarter of the game between the Dolphins and the Ravens came to an end with Baltimore up 7-3. Miami’s opening drive started with an excellent kick-off return followed by a 20-yard reception from Jaylen Waddle as the Dolphins made their way to the Ravens’ side of the field. However, they could only manage a 49-yard field goal by Riley Patterson.

After stopping the Ravens from scoring in their opening drive, Miami then fumbled deep inside its own territory. Tua Tagovailoa found Tahj Washington for a 12-yard catch, but the ball was stripped from his hands at the Dolphins’ 19-yard line. That turnover eventually led to a fourth-and-goal touchdown pass as Lamar Jackson found tight end Mark Andrews in the endzone to go up 7-3.

On the Dolphins’ ensuing drive, Miami covered good ground following a 22-yard rush by De’Von Achane, but a costly false start on fourth and one forced them to go for a field goal. Unfortunately, Patterson missed the 35-yard try, and the score remained unchanged.

Ravens Take Control

Going back the other way after the Dolphins missed a field goal, Baltimore wastes no time as a couple of big plays lead to yet another touchdown. Starting off, Lamar Jackson found Isaiah Likely for a big 22-yard gain as Baltimore made its way into the Dolphins’ territory. Jackson then hit Mark Andrews for a 20-yard touchdown, his second of the night, giving the Ravens a 14-3 lead.

Following punts by both teams, the Dolphins’ next drive starts with an excellent punt return from Malik Washington, aided by a Ravens’ penalty, setting the Dolphins up all the way at the Ravens’ Ravens’ 29-yard line. Baltimore’s defense comes up big, forcing a 43-yard field goal that cut their lead to 14-6.

Miami once again moved the ball well. Tagovailoa found Waddle for a 24-yard gain, but the Ravens stopped the Dolphins on 3 consecutive run plays, followed by a 4th and 1 pass play that failed to materialize as Miami couldn’t take advantage in the red zone with just a minute left before the half.

Baltimore Shut Down Miami after the Half

Baltimore came out of the half with a strong first drive as Lamar Jackson had his first big run of 13 yards for the game. He found his receivers consistently ending the drive with a touchdown pass to Charlie Kolar, putting them up 21-6.

The Ravens’ offense extended its lead through a 39-yard pass play from Jackson to Zay Flowers, followed by a wide-open pass to Rashod Bateman in the end zone, bringing up the team’s and Jackson’s fourth touchdown as the final score ended 28-7 in favor of Baltimore.

In between, the Ravens’ defense held strong, not allowing Miami any scoring opportunities throughout the second half. Despite Miami reaching the red zone for the fifth time in the game, Baltimore’s Teddye Buchanan forced another fumble, which was recovered by Marlon Humphrey, ending yet another drive without any points.

To top off a disastrous showing on prime-time football, the Dolphins turned the ball over for the third time as Tagovailoa’s intended pass to Tahj Washington was picked off by rookie safety Malaki Starks, which sealed the game.

Miami had nothing to show on both sides of the ball. Tua Tagovailoa finished with 261 yards, but no touchdowns and 1 interception. De’Von Achane started well in the first half, but was held to 67 yards on 14 carries, while Jaylen Waddle was their best receiver with 82 receiving yards from 6 receptions.

Baltimore, on the other hand, improved as the game went on. Lamar Jackson ended with 204 passing yards and 4 touchdowns, while Derrick Henry had a bigger second half, eventually finishing with 119 yards from 19 carries.

Isaiah Likely and Zay Flowers had 60 and 63 receiving yards, respectively, while tight end Mark Andrews hauled in two touchdowns.

With this win, the Ravens now improve to 3-5 on the season and officially begin a series of must-win games with a morale-boosting victory on national television. As for the Dolphins, the TNF’s loss means they fall to 2-7 with their playoff hopes all but over for the 2025-26 NFL season.
