Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season is set to begin with a contest between two NFC teams. The Away team in this matchup is from the formidable NFC North division and was undefeated till they met their match in the Detroit Lions. Their opponent from the NFC West, is a side struggling to keep themselves in the win column. So, who plays Thursday Night Football tonight? Let’s find out!
Week 8 Thursday Night Football game will feature a contest between the Minnesota Vikings (5-1) and the Los Angeles Rams (2-4).
The Vikings suffered their first loss of the 2024 NFL season against Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions in a closely contested game. The Lions were a better side on the night but it doesn’t take anything away from the Vikings. Starting with Sam Darnold this season is a decision that has paid dividends. Paired alongside Aaron Jones and Justin Jefferson, Kevin O’Connell and his boys will be looking for redemption.
Talking about the Los Angeles Rams, there is plenty wrong with Matthew Stafford and co. Averaging at just 19.0 points per game, the Rams’ offense seems like a catastrophe. Rams QB Matthew Stafford has thrown more interceptions than touchdowns this season (3 TD, 4 INT). The return of Cooper Kupp to the side amidst the trade rumors brings a sigh of relief. But how well their offense and defense will hold up against the Vikings, remains to be seen.
The Minnesota Vikings lead the overall head-to-head record against the Los Angeles Rams by 27-18-2. Though the Vikings lead the overall head-to-head, the Rams got the better of them on the last 2 occasions. The last game between the two sides was way back on December 26, 2021 when the Rams emerged victorious by 30-23.
