Monday Night Football in week 6 of the 2025-26 NFL season saw a doubleheader, with the first game featuring the Atlanta Falcons taking on the Buffalo Bills at home.
The Falcons came into the game with a 2-2 record after a week 5 bye week. The Bills, on the other hand, lost their first game of the season against divisional rivals, the New England Patriots, and held a 4-1 record.
In the second game of the night, the Washington Commanders hosted the Chicago Bears in an all-NFC showdown. The Commanders held a 3-2 record entering their week 6 matchup following a splendid 27-10 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. As for the Bears, they also came into the game following a week 5 bye week and with a 2-2 record.
Falcons vs Bills
The Atlanta Falcons drew first blood in this week 6 Monday Night Football game against the Bills. What could have been a horrendous start to the game with Bijan Robinson’s fumble being negated by an offside by the Bills resulted in a touchdown later in the drive as Tyler Allgeier took it to the endzone for what was a 19-yard run.
Buffalo then answered right back with a 73-yard drive that culminated with Josh Allen finding tight end Dawson Knox for a 19-yard touchdown pass. The drive was kick-started by the huge 45-yard reception by Joshua Palmer on the Bills’ first play of the game.
The first quarter would come to an end with another Falcons’ touchdown as Michael Penix Jr. found Drake London for a touchdown pass on third and goal to go up 14-7 after the extra point kick.
Bijan Robinson Puts Atlanta in the Driver’s Seat
Less than 4 minutes into the second quarter, Bijan Robinson had the play of the game with a long 81-yard touchdown run that put the Falcons up by two scores (21-7), a lead they would preserve till the intermission.
Going for it on fourth down instead of opting for a field goal, the Falcons then missed a touchdown pass as London couldn’t keep his feet in bounds with the first half winding down.
Buffalo came out of halftime with a purpose, evident by their opening drive of the second half. Allen threw a short pass to running back Ray Davis, who took it to the endzone for a 13-yard score, reducing the Falcons’ deficit to 21-14. With 1:47 left in the game, the Falcons kicked a field goal, giving themselves a comfortable 24-14 lead after a 14-play 68-yard drive.
BIJAN AND DRAKE LONDON PUT UP VIDEO GAME NUMBERS 🎮
Bijan Robinson and Drake London had impressive performances on the offensive side of the ball for Atlanta. Robinson finished the game with 170 rushing yards with a touchdown, along with 68 yards receiving. London had 10 catches for 158 yards and a touchdown, while Michael Penix Jr. finished with 250 passing yards and a touchdown.
It was a tough night for Josh Allen, who finished the game with just 180 passing yards and had 2 touchdowns and as many interceptions. James Cook put in a decent effort with 17 carries going for 87 yards, while Josh Palmer had 2 catches for 60 yards.

Commanders vs Bears
Chicago started the game on the right note, moving the ball methodically down the field. However, they could only muster a 47-yard field goal as the Commanders’ defense stood their ground.
With Washington threatening to score, Jayden Daniels’ intended pass to Deebo Samuel from the Bears’ 21-yard line was picked off by Jaquan Brisker to keep Chicago in the lead. Going the other way, Chicago once again moved the ball well but had to settle for a 48-yard field goal as the drive stalled outside the red zone.
Once again, with a chance to answer, the Commanders shot themselves in the foot as Montez Sweat punched the ball out from running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt’s hands with the Bears recovering it.
Caleb Williams ran in from the 1-yard line to start the second quarter, handing the Bears a 13-0 lead. Washington finally put some points on the board after a 22-yard Chris Moore reception in the endzone. The first half came to an end with the Bears in front 13-7, Matt Gay’s 50-yard field goal attempt for the Commanders doinked off the crossbar.
Washington started the second half with a promising drive, but had to settle for a 53-yard field goal after an intentional grounding penalty. However, the 3 points cut the deficit to 13-10 in favor of the Bears.
An illegal formation then resulted in a Bears’ touchdown being negated, following which Chicago kicked its third field goal of the night to restore the six-point lead. Washington then took its first lead of the game after Daniels hit Luke McCaffrey for a 33-yard touchdown pass on what was a blown coverage by the Bears to go up 17-16.
Chicago then had the chance to retake the lead, but Jake Moody’s field goal attempt was blocked, preserving Washington’s 1-point lead. Taking advantage of that, Daniels and the Commanders put together a strong drive culminating in a Zach Ertz touchdown, giving them a 24-16 lead.
Bears Complete Comeback after costly Commanders Fumble
Down by 8, Chicago forced its way back into the game as Caleb Williams found D’Andre Swift with a short pass that ended up going 55 yards for a touchdown.
Two of Washington’s players bumped into each other, allowing Swift to get wide open and take it to the house. Chicago missed to 2-point conversion, making the score 24-22 in favor of the Commanders.
Up by 2, and with the ball, Washington had the chance to seal the game, but the ball slipped from Daniels’ hands just as he was about to hand it off. Chicago recovered the fumble and marched down the field to set up a 38-yard game-winning field goal. Jake Moody made no mistake, handing the Bears a 25-24 win.
Jayden Daniels was limited to 211 passing yards with 3 touchdowns and an interception as the Bears’ defense came up big in the game. Chicago had 3 turnovers in a strong defensive outing on the night.
Caleb Williams threw for a touchdown and ran for another, while having 252 passing yards and no picks. D’Andre Swift had 108 yards rushing from just 14 carries, and also caught 2 passes for 67 yards, including the big 55-yard touchdown.

With the loss to the Falcons, the Bills now fall to 4-2 on the season and are now behind the Patriots in the AFC East. Atlanta moves to 3-2 and is second behind the Buccaneers in the NFC South.
The Commanders fall to 3-3 but maintain their hold in second place in the NFC East, while the Bears move to 3-2, but still remain at the bottom of the NFC North.
