Its the Packers vs the Commanders on TNF this week!

Week 2 of the NFL 2025-26 regular season begins with Thursday Night Football (TNF) in action on September 11. Last week was the season opener, and what a way to start the new season it was. The defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, took on divisional rivals the Dallas Cowboys.

In a game that was closer than expected, the Eagles trumped the Cowboys at home, but the biggest talking point of the game came even before the first snap as Philadelphia’s Jalen Carter was ejected for spitting on Dak Prescott.

Nevertheless, it is time to focus on the week ahead, and with that, here are the details of the second Thursday Night Football game of the season. So, who plays on Thursday Night Football tonight? Let’s dive in.

Who plays on Thursday Night Football tonight?

Thursday Night Football in week 2 pits the Washington Commanders against the Green Bay Packers. Both teams are coming off wins from their week 1 matchups. The Commanders overcame their NFC East rivals, the New York Giants, with ease (21-6) and will be high on confidence.

The Packers themselves will also be optimistic about their chances following their win over the Detroit Lions (27-13) last week. In fact, Green Bay looks like this could be the year they regain the top spot in the NFC North, and the addition of Micah Parsons will only help.

Commanders vs Packers Head-to-Head Record for Regular Season

The Washington Commanders and the Green Bay Packers have met 40 times in total, and it is the latter who holds a 22-17-1 lead in their head-to-head. Heading into this match, the Packers are the favorites, but the last time the two teams met, it was the Commanders who came out on top.

That said, both teams have evolved significantly since the last time they met, which was back in the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay during the 2022 season. Washington came away from that game as 23-21 winners.

Thursday Night Football Tonight Time and Location

The week 2 Thursday Night Football matchup between the Commanders and the Packers is scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. CT). The Commanders will play their first game on the road as they travel to the iconic Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

How to watch Thursday Night Football tonight?

The TNF game between the Commanders and the Packers will air on Amazon Prime Video, which has the rights to the Thursday Night Football slate consisting of 16 regular-season games and one postseason game.

Viewers can also tune in to the live streaming option on Fubo, provided the region is supported.

Week 2 Thursday Night Football Predictions

It will be the first time the Jordan Love-led Packers go up against the Jayden Daniels-led Commanders. Both rosters are quite evenly matched, so picking a winner is certainly a task.

That said, Green Bay enters as the favorites, and based on their performance last week against the Lions, they have a very good reason to do so. The game could go down to the wire, but in the end, the home support helps the Packers edge out the Commanders.

Week 2 TNF Kick-Off Time: 8:15 PM ET

Location: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Our Prediction: Green Bay Packers to win.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
