Week 10 of the 2025-26 NFL season got underway with Thursday Night Football (TNF) pitting the Denver Broncos against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos, with a 7-2 record, came into the game riding a 6-match win streak, whereas the Raiders held a 206 record with their season on the line.

The game was a complete defensive domination as neither offense was able to find the endzone more than once. Eventually, the Broncos came away with a low-scoring 10-7 victory for their seventh straight win as they maintain their hold atop the AFC West.

Broncos Fall Behind for the Ninth Time This Season

The Las Vegas Raiders received the opening kickoff and moved the ball well on their opening drive. Wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who was recently signed, caught a couple of passes even though the drive ended with nothing to show for it.

After pinning the Broncos deep in their own territory, the Raiders’ defense quickly forced a 3-and-out after Denver ran 3 straight run plays. Vegas’ ensuing drive started with excellent field position following a shanked punt. A key third-and-10 conversion for 11 yards led to the game’s first touchdown via an Ashton Jeanty 4-yard run to put the Raiders up 7-0.

The Broncos’ second drive showed no promise whatsoever, as the Raiders forced a second consecutive 3-and-out. Denver’s offense was on the field for under 4 minutes in the entire first quarter. Interestingly, the Broncos fell behind for the 9th time in their 10 games this season.

Quarterbacks Struggle to Find Any Momentum

Both Bo Nix and Geno Smith struggled mightily in this game to get going. A few flashes of excellence were, for the most part, overshadowed by sloppy plays and incomplete passes as opposing defenses applied severe pressure.

Nix finished the game, completing just 16 of 28 passes for 150 yards, one touchdown, and 2 interceptions. On the other hand, Geno Smith completed just 16 of his 26 pass attempts for 143 yards with no touchdowns and an interception. It was truly a bad day at the office for quarterback play.

Defense Dominates Broncos vs Raiders TNF Matchup

This game was completely dominated by both defenses. Neither team allowed the opposition offense to settle down following the Raiders’ first touchdown. Denver’s defense came up big yet again with multiple sacks. The league leader in sacks finished the game with 6 on the night. The Broncos also forced 8 punts and limited the Raiders to 4 of 15 on third down conversions and 0 of 1 on fourth downs.

On the flip side, the Raiders’ defense also came up big on multiple occasions, holding the Broncos offense from running away with the game. Late in the third quarter, the Raiders turned the ball over following a blocked punt inside their 10-yard line, yet Vegas was successful in limiting Denver to just a field goal as the Broncos took a 10-7 lead into the fourth quarter. The Raiders’ defense held the Broncos to just 5 of 15 on third downs, forcing 7 punts and coming down with two interceptions.

Raiders Self-Destruct Despite Multiple Chances

One of the key takeaways from this game was the inability of the Raiders’ offense to put up additional points despite the herculean effort put up by the defense. There were multiple instances when Vegas could have added to its score only for mistakes on offense and special teams.

One of their drives ended in an interception, and another one ended with a missed 48-yard goal that would have tied the game. A third drive ended with a touchdown being wiped off the board due to a penalty. Speaking of penalties, the Raiders were hit with 11 of them in total for a loss of 83 yards.

Overall, in this defensively dominated game, the Raiders’ cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly stood out with his 2 interceptions on the night. There were a total of 8 sacks from both teams and 15 punts.

On offense, Ashton Jeanty was held to just 60 yards on the ground and a touchdown, while Tyler Lockett was the best receiver for L.A. with 44 receiving yards from 5 receptions. For Denver, J.K. Dobbins finished with 18 carries for 77 yards, while Try Franklin had 5 catches for 40 yards and a touchdown.

With this win, the Denver Broncos now head into Week 11 with a commanding lead atop the AFC West with an 8-2 record. Next up for the Broncos are the Kansas City Chiefs. Vegas falls to 2-7 on the year, with their playoff aspiration all but over for the season. The Raiders will face the Dallas Cowboys next week.
