The Lakers took down the Spurs 125-109.
The clash between Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs took a fiery turn when Jarred Vanderbilt and Jeremy Sochan engaged in an on-court tussle. The Lakers recorded their second back-to-back win as they took down the Spurs 125-109 at home, Crypto.com Arena on Monday, March 17.
Apart from Austin Reaves’ 30-point performance, the game had its own share of some drama too. Jarred Vanderbilt and Jeremy Sochan engaged in a heated argument, following which they were ejected from the game. The incident took place in the fourth quarter when there were seven minutes left on the clock.
Vanderbilt was guarding Sochan in the post, when he pushed him. The Spurs forward threw the ball at Vanderbilt, to which the latter responded by shoving him. However, before things could heat up more, players and the referees interfered.
The officials wasted no time in taking the matter in their hands. Both players were given double technical and were ejected. Sochan finished the night with 15 points, three rebounds and one assist.

On the other hand, Vanderbilt called it a night with two points, one rebound and one assist. However, his ejection didn’t have any impact on the Lakers as they were leading the Spurs, 107-93, and had almost sealed the deal.
Notably, this isn’t the first time Vanderbilt engaged in on-field altercation with other players. In February this year, during the clash against the Timberwolves, he engaged in a mid-game argument with ex-teammate Anthony Edwards. In addition, he was also involved in a run-in with Houston Rockets’ Dillon Brooks last year.

As per the latest reports, he will miss a couple of games more for the Lakers.
Talking about the game, this was the fourth time the Lakers clashed against the Spurs in this season. The game saw Austin Reaves leading the charge with 30 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Luka Doncic nearly missed a double and scored 21 points, nine rebounds and a game-high 14 assists.
On the other hand, Stephon Castle came in with 23 points, eight rebounds and three assists for the Spurs. Devin Vassell recorded 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists, while Sochan added 15 points, three rebounds and one assist.
This was the Lakers’ 42nd win of the season, and they have moved to the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings. Up next, they will host the Nuggets, Bucks, and the Bulls before heading on a four-game road trip.
