The Golden State Warriors return to the Bay Area after a largely successful road trip against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Steve Kerr led side won the first game but lost the second one, making the Warriors vs. Timberwolves semi-finals series 1-1.
The Golden State Warriors despite being short-handed put up a fine display on the road. Their first game was a brilliant team effort, but circumstances changed in the second one. Minnesota Timberwolves ramped through the Warriors with a crucial tie balancing win. The role players who were supposed to step up failed.
Buddy Hield who went hot in the first Warriors vs. Timberwolves game couldn’t find the rhythm on Thursday. Jonathan Kuminga played to his potential and led the scoresheet for his team, hitting 18 points. Trayce Jackson-Davis was also at his best, scoring 15 points in 19 minutes. However, Gary Payton II, Pat Spencer, Quinten Post all went for zero.

The Twolves had it going after momentum shifted to their side given Steph Curry’s injury. The Warriors don’t have a consistent scorer beside Curry and Butler, and the Timberwolves took great advantage of that. Anthony Edwards, who was under-scoring in the first game, dropped 20 points. The home side won the Warriors vs. Timberwolves game 2 by 117-93.
Golden State Warriors
Steph Curry remains out of the game three after sustaining a hamstring injury early this week. The absence of Steph Curry comes as a major blow to the Warriors, as the baby faced assassin was getting hot at the right time. Game 3 will determine if the Warriors will survive the series or not.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Rob Dillingham is listed as questionable for the third game on Saturday. Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards, who suffered an ankle injury scare in game two, is fit. The 23-year-old momentarily exited the match on Thursday, but was back in the second half with his usual athleticism.
The Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves have faced each other in 6 games this season. Warriors outrightly have an upper hand with four wins, while Timberlake managed to win two games.
