The Rockets and the Warriors will lock horns in the final game of the best-of-seven series on Sunday.

The Houston Rockets humbled their superior rivals, Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the first-round NBA Playoffs 2025 with a 117-105 loss on Friday, May 2. Both teams will now clash against each other in Game 7 to decide which team advances to the Western Conference Semi-finals. The Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr reacted to the Rockets forcing a series decider and said that Game 7s are always special.

Kerr, who coached in four Game 7s, interacted with the media in the post-match conference. He told the reporters that while the rest of the series is a rock fight between the teams, the final games are generally slower. Kerr said, “It just feels slower. It feels like, you know, most game sevens are kind of rock fights. There’s a different vibe.”

He added that there is generally a nervous vibe among the home crowd. The 59-year-old also added that Game sevens are special and it’s always fun to be a part of such games. He said, “There’s a, you know, a nervous vibe with the home crowd. There’s just a sense of, all right, we’re finally here. It’s been two weeks and both teams are throwing haymakers at each other and all that. It’s why people love watching them at home. Game sevens are special and they’re fun to be a part of.”

Notably, VanVleet led the Rockets with 29 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, while Adams posted 17 points and five rebounds.

He added, “Our physicality and our awareness has improved throughout the series. Our young guys aren’t really phased by things. They just continue to play through it.”

Udoka expressed his confidence in the Rockets’ squad, who were trailing the series 3-1, but registered back-to-back wins to force a decider. The 47-year-old added, “When we’ve played good basketball, we’ve had some blowouts. That bodes well, knowing that we can kind of ramp it up there.”

Both sides will be up against each other in the final game of the series on Sunday, May 4, at Toyota Center in Texas. The winner of the game will advance ahead to clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Semi-finals.
