The Golden State Warriors have fallen back on their previous 3-1 lead in the first round against the Houston Rockets. They are now on the brink of elimination after another poor performance on Friday night. The night went worse, with Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler playing the majority of the minutes and still losing the Warriors vs. Rockets game.
The Houston Rockets started the game well and continued their accurate shooting from the previous game. The Warriors lagged behind throughout the game, but they didn’t have a blowout deficit. Jimmy Butler was the only player on the Golden State side that made consistent buckets.
Despite having a thin lead, the Rockets kept building post half-time thanks to costly turnovers from Steph Curry. On one hand, the Windy City Assassin kept bricking from beyond the arc and on the other hand, he kept giving away possession with weak hold and poor passes.

As the home side entered the fourth quarter with trailing by just two points, the larger consensus among the crowd was that the Warriors vs. Rockets game and series was theirs. But what came ahead shocked not only the fans but the commentators and analysts as well.
The Golden State Warriors went on a points’ drought run and managed to score only 5 points in the first 8 minutes. The Houston Rockets took this opportunity to stretch their lead. It was embarrassing for the home crowd to witness all the starters miss buckets after buckets. Even Jimmy Butler wasn’t immune to this inefficiency.
The Warriors vs. Rockets will enter it’s seventh game of the series after Golden State’s debacle fourth quarter performance. Houston Rockets’ young guns are full of confidence with the 115-107 win on Friday night. Despite not a high level performance from them, they have managed to take back the series decider to Houston.
Fred VanVleet continued his fine scoring form by dropping 29/8/8 while Alperen Sengun scored 21 points and collected 14 rebounds. On the other side, Steph Curry had 29 points from an embarrassing 9-23 FG. He shot just 6 3s from 16 attempts. Besides role players like Gary Payton II (5 pts), Buddy Hield (0 pts), Quentin Post (5 pts) failed to step up when it mattered most, contributing little to no scoring support.
As a result of that, the Warriors vs. Rockets series will now move into its game 7 in Houston. The Golden State Warriors have blown out any advantage, and now they don’t have momentum as well. The Houston Rockets are now the favorites to advance on Sunday.
