Utah Jazz vs Detroit Pistons Match Preview

Jazz: Eyes on the Cooper Flagg prize

The squad will come into this game after clashing against the Pelicans on the previous night. Before that, they clinched a 1-point win over the Minnesota Timberwolves as John Collins had a sensational 29-point, 14-rebound performance. The Jazz hasn’t won two in a row since January 5, but such returns were expected out of the team. The management should be content as the team can land a #1 pick in the 2025 Draft that can give them Duke phenom Cooper Flagg. Even if they end up with a top-three pick, they have a chance to grab a terrific talent like Dylan Harper or Ace Bailey.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Isaiah Collier | PG/SG: Collin Sexton | SF: Lauri Markkanen | PF: John Collins | C: Walker Kessler

Injuries: To be updated later.

Pistons: The most unexpected rise

The Pistons enter the game after an impressive 21-point win against the Brooklyn Nets in a back-to-back situation. They have won nine out of the last ten games, and the win against the defending champs Boston Celtics has been their crown jewel. The move to bring Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Tobias Harris has given much-needed experience to bring the max out of their superstar Cade Cunningham. Meanwhile, Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson have provided tremendous hustle on both ends.

Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Cade Cunningham | SG: Tim Hardaway Jr. | SF: Ausar Thompson | PF: Tobias Harris | C: Jalen Duren

Injuries: Jaden Ivey is OUT.

Utah Jazz vs Detroit Pistons Total Over/Under Prediction

The Jazz has consistently scored in the 111+ points range at home but has also conceded 114 or more regularly. Meanwhile, the Pistons’ offense has been on fire, and they have scored 119 or more at a high clip. Meanwhile, they have limited teams under 110 fairly consistently. I believe the Pistons will come up with a big-time scoring effort while limiting the Jazz below their regular output at home.

Projected Predictions:

  • Jazz: Points Under 110.5 for +100 at BetMGM
  • Pistons: Points Over 122.5 for +110 at BetMGM

Utah Jazz Player Props Predictions- Projected Top Bets & Odds

John Collins to be held under 17 points: The Jazz’s athletic PF has averaged over 20 points a game since February. However, I expect the Pistons’ defense to hold him in the 14-16 points range.

Isaiah Collier to dish at least 11 assists: The Jazz Floor General has been in otherworldly touch since February and has regularly served double-digit helpers. He can be in the 11-13 assists range here.

Detroit Pistons Player Props Predictions – Projected Top Bets & Odds

Cade Cunningham to put up at least 27 points: The Pistons PG has scored 21 or fewer points in three straight games, but I believe he will come up with a 25+ points performance here.

Jalen Duren to grab at least 12 rebounds: The Pistons center has clasped over 11 rebounds per game since February. I believe he will be in the 14-18 rebounds range here.

Utah Jazz vs Detroit Pistons Match Prediction

The Pistons will have an overwhelming advantage in this game as they are 20-7 against squads who have a less than .500 record. Their depth is incredible, and it isn’t confirmed if the Jazz will play their full-strength lineup here. At any rate, I expect the Pistons to notch at least a 17-point win here.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
