Just how excited are fans about Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the 2025 US Open? Certainly, social media is buzzing with debates over who’ll win this epic battle. However, for the US Open organizers, this match is proving to be a bonanza. In fact, they’re about to earn more than they’ve ever earned after this clash of tennis’ biggest stars has led to unprecedented demand.

Prices Soar as Carlos Alcaraz Faces Off Novak Djokovic

For the past few years, the US Open has become one of the richest tournaments in tennis. The prize money is usually the highest. In fact, in 2025, the organizers announced a record-breaking $85 million prize money for the tournament. That was a huge 21% increase over the 2024’s $70 million prize. Certainly a huge growth, but when one looks at the present ticket prices for the semifinals, one can understand the reason for this rise.

Per the latest data, the minimum price of tickets is $1000. The highest? Just over $26,000. Yes, that’s without a doubt the highest ticket prices in the history of the US Open. That’s the hype that fans have for Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic. More importantly, it’s another evidence of the US Open’s growing prominence as tennis’ biggest tournament when it comes to revenue and prize money.

2024’s US Open earned an operating revenue of $559.7 million. Certainly, the event will eclipse that number this year. But one wonders if the semifinals are generating such craze, just how high will the numbers go for the final? Especially if it involves any combination of Alcaraz/Djokovic vs Jannik Sinner/Felix Auger-Aliassime (the three biggest names in tennis today and the biggest breakout of this year’s US Open).

Why Alcaraz and Djokovic Are Generating Such Interest

This’ll be the ninth meeting between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. The Serb leads the Spaniard 5-3 and has won their last two matches. First, he defeated Alcaraz in the Paris Olympics to seal a career golden slam. Then, in the Australian Open, Djokovic defeated Alcaraz despite losing the first set. The Spaniard later admitted that he lost his concentration, which ultimately cost him a win.

But things are different in the US Open. Carlos Alcaraz hasn’t lost a set yet, and his lapses in concentration no longer exist. The 22-year-old is operating in a robotic fashion and showing his career’s best form yet. On the other hand, Novak Djokovic started slowly but has slowly found his rhythm in the tournament. Still, unlike Alcaraz, Djokovic has been forced to play multiple 4-set matches, and that has affected his body.

Still, their matches have always been electric and it’s natural why the fans are ready to pay premium price to watch them in action. This could be the landmark night for tennis, especially when it comes to the finances of the sport. So who will prevail? We’ll find out soon.
