Mayur Dedwal

Portugal has won all their games at home in this UEFA Nations League.

Portugal entered the UEFA Nations League as one of the tournament favorites. However, a shocking 1-0 defeat to Denmark in the first leg has put Roberto Martinez and his squad under unexpected pressure, setting up a crucial test.

Denmark triumphed over Serbia and Switzerland in the group stage to get to the quarterfinals. After beaming with confidence and a goal advantage, the Danes will be ready to put in a tactical fight.

All eyes will be on Lisbon as Portugal looks to overturn a one-goal deficit on home soil. Cristiano Ronaldo, who had a quiet outing in Denmark, will be under the spotlight as fans hope for a vintage performance from the star striker.

Portugal Injury News

Portugal is expected to stick to their first-leg tactics and lineup from the first leg. The team has sustained no injuries or suspensions as Roberto Martinez will have all of his key players. After a blowup in the first leg, the Portuguese manager could switch things around attacking-wise.

With so many options at his service, substitutions could make a heavy contribution. Pedro Neto managed two shots on target was the only effort on target among the front three. The Spanish manager will also have the service of Diogo Jota if needed.

Portugal Lineup:  D Costa; Dalot, Dias, Veiga, Mendes; Vitinha, Neves; Neto, Fernandes, Leao; Ronaldo

Denmark Injury News

After handing Portugal their first defeat of the tournament, the Danes will be thriving in confidence. It is expected that the Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund will be given a nod to start after scoring from the bench.

Brian Reiner will be confident with his first-leg team and wouldn’t be keen to switch much. Their centre-back duo Joachim Anderson and Jannik Vestergaard have been solid through the competition. After keeping a clean sheet at home, it’ll be crucial for them to carry their team.

Denmark Lineup: Schmeichel; Kristensen, Andersen, Vestergaard, Maehle; Hjulmand, Norgaard; Isaksen, Eriksen, Lindstrom; Hojlund
