The UCL quarter-final ties have been confirmed.
The Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League had plenty of surprises, along with some one-sided games. While some teams fought hard to advance, others had an easy path to the quarterfinals.
Fourteen-time champions Real Madrid found a way to win again, beating Atletico Madrid in a controversial penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Liverpool were knocked out by PSG on penalties.
On the other hand, Arsenal and Aston Villa had no trouble making it to the last eight. The Gunners cruised through with a 9-3 aggregate win, while Villa secured their spot with a 6-1 aggregate victory over Club Brugge.
The 2025 Champions League quarterfinals consist of four matchups, each played over two legs. The team with the higher total score across both games will move on to the semifinals. If both teams are level on aggregate after the second leg, the match will go into extra time. If there’s still no winner, a penalty shootout will decide which team advances.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Barcelona secured their spots in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals on Tuesday, while Real Madrid, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Aston Villa confirmed their place on Wednesday. PSG beat Liverpool on penalties, while Bayern comfortably sealed a 5-0 aggregate win over Bayer Leverkusen. Meanwhile, Barcelona secured a 3-1 win (4-1 on aggregate) against Benfica at Barcelona Olympic Stadium.
On Wednesday, Real Madrid eliminated Atletico Madrid in a controversial penalty shootout, while Borussia Dortmund came from behind to defeat Lille 2-1 in France. Arsenal played to a draw at home against PSV but advanced with a 9-3 aggregate score. Meanwhile, Aston Villa cruised to a 3-0 win (6-1 on aggregate) against Club Brugge to secure their spot.
