Tyrod Taylor Injury Update – Jets Might Be Stuck with Justin Fields After All, As Details on Tyrod Taylor’s Injury Emerge!

Devavrat Kulkarni

Tyrod Taylor was in-line to start against the Bengals on Sunday!

The New York Jets just can’t seem to catch a break, no matter what they plan on doing. At 0-7, the Jets are the only winless team left in the league, and despite coming close to winning a couple of times, the reality is that the team has looked flat for much of the last few weeks.

The Jets’ defense has done an impeccable job in the last 2 games, holding both the Broncos and the Panthers’ offenses to just 13 points, but New York’s offense couldn’t even score more than that.

Jets Planned on Starting Tyrod Taylor at Quarterback in Week 8

After benching Justin Fields in the week 7 matchup against the Panthers, Aaron Glenn inserted backup Tyrod Taylor under center. While Taylor threw multiple picks, he was able to provide some life to an otherwise dull offense run by Fields.

Even though Taylor’s performance was not too convincing, there was plenty of speculation that he would get the nod to start the Jets’ week 8 game against the Bengals. Unfortunately, though, those plans may have to take a backseat now.

Tyrod Taylor Injury Update

Recently, Taylor was listed as a limited participant on the Jets’ injury report after Wednesday’s practice session. While the extent of the injury is not known, it has been reported as a knee problem, and Taylor’s status now remains day-to-day.

If Taylor is not fit enough to take the field on Sunday, that means the Jets will have no option but to start Fields once again. The Bengals’ game will be New York’s last game before their week 9 bye week, and going into the second half of the season with a win would surely bring some positivity to the roster.

That said, it will not be an easy task for whoever starts, since Cincinnati looked very sharp in its last game against the Steelers. Newly acquired quarterback Joe Flacco had a brilliant game and hasn’t wasted any time building chemistry with his new receivers.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
