Tyrese Haliburton gave the Pacers a massive injury scare in Game 5 of the NBA Finals
The Indiana Pacers have hit a slump in the NBA Finals, struggling to match the energy and pace of the OKC Thunder on the big stage. Pacers forced Game 7 and they suffered a major injury concern during the first half of the game. Indiana ruled him out for the rest of the game in the second quarter with a right “lower-leg injury.”
The Pacers started slow and remained behind for the majority of the first half, unable to close the gap early on. Their first quarter score remained 22 against their opponent’s 25. Pacers controlled the pace, taking a lead after a decent first half, capped by a strong finish to the second quarter.

Star guard Tyrese Haliburton failed to find rhythm on the floor, missing key shots and appearing visibly limited in his movements early on. To make matters worse, Haliburton walked off in what looked like a major injury. The emotional Haliburton had a towel over his head when made his way toward the locker room. His father, John Haliburton, put his head in his hand while watching from the stands.
Prayers up for Tyrese Haliburton. 🙏

Haliburton landed awkwardly on his foot midway through the first quarter, appearing to aggravate a pre-existing leg concern. The Pacers’ star immediately exited the court after logging just over 7 minutes of play in the opening quarter.
The 25-year-old has been nothing short of a superstar, and this injury scare diminished the title hopes of the Pacers. However, Pacers controlled the game and had a 48-47 lead at halftime. Haliburton has consistently delivered in high-pressure moments, guiding his team through crunch-time situations with timely buckets and floor leadership.

Tyrese Haliburton’s calf injury is serious, as coach Rick Carlisle already pointed out earlier in the NBA Finals that his point guard did have discomfort on his foot. Sunday night’s awkward landing added to the same issue. Haliburton was seen with ice packs on his foot.
It’s over for Haliburton this season but he will be back next season with more energy. His injury is not so big but it will take time to recover. He had the same injury in Game 5 and the Pacers star backed himself to play Game 6. Pacers won the match and forced the championship game in OKC.
