Tyrese Haliburton calls Steph Curry’s Paris Olympics performance “the greatest” despite his standout game against Spurs

Fans witnessed a thrilling encounter on Saturday, Jan. 25, as the Indiana Pacers registered a blowout 136-98 win over the San Antonio Spurs in their second back-to-back NBA Paris Game 2025.

The game saw Tyrese Haliburton carrying the side past Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs with his 28 points, to tie the series 1-1. Halliburton’s performance was no less to give the Parisian crowd Deja Vu five months after Paris 2024.

In the Paris Olympics, it was Stephen Curry, who led the US team to the fifth consecutive gold medal at the marquee tournament. Curry scored 24 points and led the side to a 98-97 win over France. He came up with a string of four 3-pointers in the final 2:43, one of which sealed the deal for the U.S. with 1:19 minutes remaining.

Five months later, Haliburton did the same for the Pacers and came up with four three pointers in a duration of over two minutes, which was enough for the side to bounce back from the previous defeat. Haliburton scored 28 points, 18 of which came in the third quarter, and added four assists and three rebounds.

After leading the side to 1-1 tie in the series, Tyrese Haliburton was asked if his shooting performance reminded him of Stephen Curry’s performance in the Paris Olympics 2024. However, the 24-year-old graciously refused and hailed the veteran’s performance as the ‘greatest run’ in the game.

“Did it remind you at all what you watched that night,” Haliburton was asked.

“No, that was probably the greatest run I’ve ever seen in the game of basketball,” he replied.

The Pacers are now 25-20 overall, while the Spurs fell to 20-23 following the defeat. In the next game, the Spurs will be up against the Clippers, whereas the Pacers clash against the Pistons on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
