The NFL offseason is a long one, lasting for half the year, but even in that, plenty of changes take place that reshape how franchises will look ahead of the new season. The NFL draft, free agency, and trades are all ways in which teams look to enhance their rosters.

But that’s not all; changes to the coaching staff also play a vital role in changing the fortunes of a team. Having said that, here is a list of the top 7 moves that have taken place in the 2025 NFL offseason.

2025 NFL Offseason’s Biggest Moves

As is the case in almost every offseason, this year has also seen many modifications to team rosters as well as coaching staff. Some of the moves teams made in the draft and in free agency have been surprising, while others seem to be perfect fits. While there were several crucial moves made by teams, here are some of the top ones.

Chicago Bears Rebuild O-line

Last season, there were a lot of expectations from the Bears. After all, they had had a splendid draft selecting Caleb Williams with the number one overall pick and adding Rome Odunze to the receiver room, along with Keenan Allen.

However, they failed miserably in the trenches, and Williams ended up being the most sacked quarterback in the league. The Bears have rectified that quickly with quality signings of guards Jonah Jackson and All-Pro Joe Thuney. These signings have the potential to keep Williams safer in the pocket, allowing him more time to throw the ball.

Rams Sign Davante Adams As Cooper Kupp Replacement

The Los Angeles Rams surprised many after they let go of fan favorite wide receiver Cooper Kupp. But Kupp has missed multiple games due to injuries in the past three seasons, so the Rams went out and signed Davante Adams.

The former Jets receiver continues to produce at a high level despite being 32 years old. Filling Kupp’s shoes was never going to be easy for any player, but if anyone can do it, Adams is one of those options. The long-time Packers’ receiver will also play as a mentor to Puka Nacua, with whom he can form an elite one-two.

Commanders Sign Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel

The Washington Commanders had a terrific season last year. Not many predicted them to reach the NFC Conference Championship game, but they did, and in style, too. Jayden Daniels was clearly the best quarterback from the 2024 draft class, and he provided the team with a huge boost.

However, in the offseason, the Commanders have gotten stronger with the additions of Laremy Tunsil at tackle and Deebo Samuel at receiver. PFF has ranked Tunsil as the 8th-best tackle in the league, mostly on the basis of his excellent pass-blocking skills.

As for their receiver room, the Commanders now have another quality player with Deebo Samuel lining up opposite Terry McLaurin to form a formidable receiving duo.

Cowboys Add George Pickens to Receiver Room

Sticking to receivers, the Dallas Cowboys made a huge splash signing former Steeler George Pickens. While Pickens can be a handful to deal with, especially off the field, Dallas might have gambled on his ability to lift its offense to a whole new level.

Prescott, who has excellent chemistry with CeeDee Lamb, will now have another target just as reliable as his number one receiver. New head coach Brian Schottenheimer can get creative in the way he runs his offense, knowing the talent he has at his disposal.

Raiders Sign Pete Carroll and Chip Kelly to Coaching Staff

Vegas was in complete shambles last season, finishing with just 4 wins. This offseason has seen key changes, starting with the appointment of Pete Carroll as the head coach and Chip Kelly as the offensive coordinator.

Carroll brings in experience and a winning culture, having led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl, while Kelly brings in offensive creativity, which is something the Raiders desperately need. Moreover, Carroll is reunited with Geno Smith at under center, so things are looking up for the Raiders.

Broncos Focus on Strengthening Their Defense

Denver had a solid defensive line last season, and overall, they were a good unit defensively. However, come the postseason, their defense got taken apart by the Bills. In the offseason, Denver added Jahdae Barron in the draft, and added quality at linebacker and safety with free agent signings of Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga.

Steelers Sign Aaron Rodgers

The major topic this offseason had been that of free agent Aaron Rodgers until he finally signed with the Steelers. After several months of speculation on where he would sign and whether or not he would continue his career in 2025, Rodgers put all rumors to rest.

The Steelers have certainly gotten better with Rodgers under center, even though the past couple of seasons have not gone too well for the former Packer. Moreover, with the signing of receiver DK Metcalf, Rodgers will have a quality receiver to target in the Steel City.

As the NFL offseason nears the training camp phase, it will be exciting to see how the new rosters shape up franchises ahead of the regular season. Training camp and preseason will provide an idea of what is to come, but some of these teams will surely be expecting to improve their records from last season, given their work in the offseason.
