“They traded Luka last time”- Pascal Siakam gives a hilarious take on the NBA rule he’d like to see changed

Indiana Pacers center Pascal Siakam was at his witty-self during the NBA All-Star Media Day. Siakam is in San Francisco for his third All-Star Game participation, where he interacted with the media members and responded to their questions.

Pascal was asked about one rule that he would like to change in the league. He came up with a hilarious yet unexpected response, that spoke volumes about the position of players in the league.

The media members asked Siakam, “If you could change 1 NBA rule, what would it be and why?” The 30-year-old responded hilariously to it and said that he is “cool with everything”, seemingly avoiding putting himself in a concerning position in front of the league and his team.

“Bro, I don’t like getting into… I’m just here so I don’t get fined… I’m cool with everything,” Pascal replied.

He jokingly referenced the Luka Doncic trade, suggesting that speaking on rule change might land him on the trading block as well.

The Douala-born added, “They traded Luka [Doncic] last time, I’m trying to chill.”

In what could be termed as the biggest trade of the NBA, five-time NBA All-Star Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for their big man Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 draft pick.

An unexpected move, the trade deal left everyone, from fans to pundits and current players, shocked.

“We’re all trying to see if it’s gonna work”- Pascal Siakam unsure of All-Star Game’s new format

Siakam, who made it to the All-Star Game 2025 on the back of a strong performance this season, also shared his opinion about the new format of the event.

The Pacers’ star, who is averaging at 20.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game this season, will be a part of the Chuck’s Global Stars. He will be in action on the grand finale night, February 16.

Speaking about the new format introduced for the star-studded game, Pascal shared his thoughts, indirectly revealing that he is also unsure of it.

“It should be fun. I think we’ll see. We’re all trying to see if it’s gonna work, if it’s gonna be something different. I’m excited regardless. If we’re gonna play hard, I’ll play hard. If we’re gonna hang out, I’ll hang out,” he said.

Notably, the NBA and the All-Star Game has received heavy scrutiny from fans for the lack of competitiveness in the past few editions.

Considering this, the organization came up with a few fixes, including a change in the format. This year, the All-Star Game will be played in the format of a mini tournament, consisting of four teams.
