Barcelona once again asserted their dominance over Real Madrid this season, lifting the 2025 Copa del Rey trophy after a hard-fought victory in Seville. In a dramatic final, defender Jules Kounde emerged as Barcelona’s hero as he smashed home a stunning extra-time winner to defeat Real Madrid 3-2.

After an entertaining 90 minutes that ended 2-2, penalties seemed inevitable. But Kounde had other ideas, rifling a low shot from 22 yards out into the bottom corner to clinch the trophy for Barcelona. The victory kept Barca’s hopes of a historic treble alive, while Real Madrid’s turbulent season continued with more heartbreak.

Lamine Yamal Aims Brutal Dig at Real Madrid

The match ended in fiery fashion, with Real Madrid’s Antonio Rudiger and Lucas Vazquez shown straight red cards from the bench, while Jude Bellingham was sent off after the final whistle for confronting the officials. Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal added fuel to the fire post-match as he launched a brutal dig at Real Madrid.

Barcelona’s latest victory marked their third triumph over Real Madrid this season, following a commanding 4-0 win at the Bernabeu in October and a 5-2 demolition in the Spanish Supercopa final in January. The two rivals will lock horns once again in La Liga on May 11, where another Barcelona win could push them even closer to clinching the league title.

Lamine Yamal has etched his name in football history by winning the UEFA European Championship and being named the Young Player of the Tournament. He’s also won the prestigious Golden Boy award and added the Kopa Trophy to his collection.
