Ryan Clark said, “There’s a difference between being humble and being humbled. The world tried to humble Shedeur Sanders, but he just used to be humble in the way he went about work. The composure, the poise, the way that he has handled his situation being the fourth quarter back throughout this, he’s not ruffled any feathers.”

Clark added, “He’s shown he could be a leader. And there’s no such thing as luck. This man has been preparing for this moment his whole life. Sometimes you have to have a setback for you to get to be historic.”

Shadeur Sanders Shines After Unexpected Game Call

Shadeur Sanders was not supposed to start the preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on the weekend. However, with injuries sidelining Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel, the 23-year-old unexpectedly earned his first preseason start for Cleveland.

Sanders got roughly 45 snaps, exiting late in the third quarter. He worked mostly with second- and third‑team personnel, while Carolina played many starters briefly to open the game.

The Cleveland Browns will travel to Philadelphia to face the defending champions at the Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday. This will be their second preseason outing.
