The 2025 Wimbledon Championships Prize Money and Ranking Points – All You Need to Know

Sankalp Harikrishnan

The 2025 Wimbledon will see an increase in prize money from last year.

The London summer is back, which means the 2025 Wimbledon Championships are just around the corner. Every year, the premier grass court major brings about some fast-paced exchanges, blockbuster encounters and major upsets. While Carlos Alcaraz and Barbora Krejcikova are the defending champions, several stars will be chasing their crown.

Wimbledon is organised by the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and is the third Grand Slam of the tennis calendar. A world renowned event known for being the oldest professional competition in the sport, Wimbledon takes place on outdoor grass courts in London. It features 128 singles participants and 64 pairs in doubles. In mixed doubles, there are 32 combinations vying for the title.

Having been founded in 1877, the Wimbledon Championships take place during late June through early July. The tournament is dipped in rich tradition and history – with an all-white dress code and strawberries & cream paired with champagne. In 2025, Wimbledon will be played between 31 June and 13 July.

Roger Federer is the most successful men’s singles athlete at the Wimbledon Championships. The Swiss maestro famously won five consecutive trophies between 2003-2007, before earning additional successes in 2009, 2012 and 2017. In women’s singles, Martina Mavratilova has 9 championships to her name. Todd Woodbridge (9) and Elizabeth Ryan (12) hold the most titles in men’s and women’s doubles respectively.
