“Thank you Nico” – Lakers fans troll Nico Harrison as Luka Doncic’s triple-double leads to win over Mavericks

Nico Harrison was at the Crypto.com Arena for the Lakers-Mavericks clash.

The crowd at the Crypto.com Arena had their own moment on Tuesday. As the Los Angeles Lakers engaged in a highly-anticipated clash with the Dallas Mavericks on February 25, the Lakers crowd kept spirits high for their newly-acquired star, Luka Doncic. This was the first time both sides were locking horns since the shocking Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade that took place before the 2025 trade deadline.

During the game, while all eyes were on Luka, plenty were on the Mavericks GM Nico Harrison as well. Harrison, who was the mastermind behind the trade, was trolled with ‘Thank You, Nico’ chants at the arena as well as on social media.

The chants came on the back of a power-packed performance by Luka Doncic, who went all guns blazing right from the beginning. He finished the 19 points, 15 rebounds, and 12 assists on a historic night.

Fans on social media didn’t hold themselves back and came up with some hilarious reactions.

Check out some reactions:

Doncic, who in his red-hot form following the 32 pointer against the Nuggets, had his first triple double for the Lakers. He is now the third player after LeBron James and Russell Westbrook to have a triple-double against all 30 teams. Moreover, he is the sixth player in NBA history to record a triple-double in their first game against their former team.

Following the game when Luka was asked if he saw Harrison during the warm up, he had a clear answer, “No!”

Luka Doncic has seventh highest all-time triple-doubles

The Slovenian now holds the record of the seventh highest all-time triple doubles in the league with 81. He sits behind Mavericks coach Jason Kidd who has 107 triple doubles.

Denver Nuggets’ Russell Westbrook holds the record for the most triple doubles with 202, while former player Oscar Robertson has acquired the second spot on the standings with 181 triple doubles.

Nikola Jokic, Magic Johnson and LeBron James are on the third, fourth and fifth spots with 156, 138 and 122 triple-doubles, respectively.

Luka will be back in action for the Lakers in their next clash against the Timberwolves on Thursday, February 27.
