Super Bowl LVI Winner Teases Retirement U-Turn After Micah Parsons Trade Request

Once again, at the heart of the headlines in the NFL is the Dallas Cowboys’ pass rusher Micah Parsons. The star defender has been seeking a new contract extension for nearly two full offseasons now, and after waiting for what seems like eternity, Parsons handed in his request for a trade.

A social media page dedicated to the Los Angeles Rams posted the idea of Parsons in a Rams uniform, which caught the eye of former Rams legend Aaron Donald after he was asked about his thoughts on Parsons joining the Rams.

Aaron Donald Hints at a Return to the NFL

The 3-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year hinted that he would have to think of coming out of retirement if Parsons were to somehow land with the Rams. The thought of this becoming a reality was so exciting that Donald posted the following reply to the Rams’ fan page.

“If @_micahparsons11 go to the rams I might have to call @210ths and get in football shape wit that Dline would be unreal.”

Not wanting to miss out on the fun, Parsons himself posted back, “@aarondonald99 man!!! Dont tell me info like that!! @davidmulugheta”, as he tagged both Donald and his agent David Mulugheta to the post.

What if the Rams Make a Move for Parsons?

Seeing the fun banter take place between two greats of the game, Rams fans may be jumping at the possibility of a Parsons and Donald team-up on a team that already consists of last season’s NFL Rookie of the Year in Jared Verse, as well as Braden Fiske and Kobie Turner.

The Rams are a team that is known to chase top players and sign them in exchange for draft picks. They have done so in the past and have been able to still come out of the draft with solid pics in the middle rounds. So, could this end up happening in reality?

Maybe, but it is still a long shot since two very crucial things would have to happen for this reality to take place. First of all, Donald has already stated earlier this year that he is enjoying his life post-retirement and has no plans to return to the game.

Additionally, even though Parsons has requested a trade, the chances of the Cowboys actually letting him go are next to none. Parsons is on the path to legendary status. He already has a minimum of 12 sacks in each of his four years in the league thus far, and his production rate for America’s team is nothing short of extraordinary.

So this team-up of Parsons and Donald seems more like a dream than reality at the moment, and while Rams fans can feel excited, it is best for them to suppress any over-the-top emotions at least for now.
